Reconstructing the gauge group from retained structure

The group follows from the carrier and tensors that completion retains. For stipulated complex ranks three and two, retaining precisely a parallel global product volume gives S(U(3)×U(2)); the source and retention choices remain substantive assumptions.

Assumptions, results and research status

Exact stabilizer and conditional carrier reconstruction

Assumptions

  • The optional source has associative noncommutative composition with a positive multiplicative norm.
  • The recurrence uses one independent quadrature plane per center-free source direction, one reset state, and no spectators.
  • The doublet is constructed by a real doubled marked cut followed by scalar extension through the selected phase.
  • The record retains a Hermitian 3+2 splitting and precisely a global parallel product-volume tensor, without additional named right tensors.

Results

  • The stated associative source conditions select the quaternion algebra.
  • The stipulated regular quadrature construction has order seven and a complex positive-frequency triplet.
  • The scalar-extended doubled cut has a complex two-dimensional kernel.
  • The retained product-volume stabilizer is S(U(3)×U(2))≅[SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1)]/Z6.

Open questions

  • Why does an independently motivated source choose these quadrature, cut, and retention rules?
  • What prepares and globally aligns exactly the product-volume reference?
  • How are matter representations, CAR, physical chirality, families, dynamics, and measured parameters selected?

Select the group by specifying what a frame must preserve

A gauge frame group is the automorphism group of the declared retained structure. A Hermitian complex rank-m carrier admits U(m). A distinguished unit determinant tensor reduces it to SU(m). A splitting into rank-three and rank-two complex subspaces with separate metrics admits U(3)×U(2) before additional tensors are imposed. The group is therefore an output of a structural specification.

The record manuscript provides a precise conditional statement: if completion retains the 3+2 splitting and exactly a global parallel product of the two volume tensors, then its adapted frame group is S(U(3)×U(2)). It also presents an optional finite source construction for the carrier ranks. These are different steps. The operational need for transport does not itself choose the ranks, and the ranks do not themselves choose the determinant constraint. §6 and Appendix A, pp.11–15 and 20–25.

“Reconstruction” should be read with those dependencies in view. A calculation can establish the exact stabilizer of chosen data without showing that the bare SMM/DTT ontology uniquely supplies those data or that nature realizes the resulting model.

The associative norm-composing source is conditionally quaternionic

The optional source assumes a finite-dimensional real unital associative algebra with bilinear closed composition and a positive quadratic intensity whose norm is exactly multiplicative. A nonzero product cannot vanish because the product norm would then vanish while both factor norms are positive. Multiplication by a nonzero element is injective and, in finite dimension, surjective. Associativity then supplies inverses, giving a real division algebra.

Under these hypotheses the Frobenius classification leaves ℝ, ℂ, and ℍ. The additional requirement of noncommutativity excludes the first two and selects the quaternions. Its center-free module W=ℍ/Z(ℍ) can be identified with Imℍ, of real dimension three. Quaternion multiplication and the norm give its Euclidean metric and oriented alternating three-form. Axioms A.1–A.2, Lemma A.6, and Corollary A.7, pp.20–21.

The scope is exact but restricted. Removing associativity admits an octonionic branch with seven imaginary directions; it does not force that branch. Keeping the same independent-quadrature rule would then produce a different clock order. The three-dimensional imaginary quaternion module is also not yet a spatial tangent space. An operational displacement map and a controlled record-graph limit are still required.

A specified quadrature rule supplies a seven-state clock

For each of d center-free source directions, the construction assigns one independent real conjugate quadrature plane. A nontrivial continuously oriented real frequency needs at least two real dimensions, but assigning a separate plane to every source direction is an additional rule. One reset state closes a regular orbit, with no duplicated or spectator states. The resulting dimension is N=1+2d, so the quaternionic d=3 case gives N=7.

An explicit clock rotates the k-th quadrature plane by 2πk/7 for k=1,2,3 and fixes one real eigenmode line. The marked reset vector is distinct from that fixed eigenvector: a marked vector with equal spectral weights 1/7 has an orthonormal orbit of seven states under this clock. The six nonfixed modes form three complex-conjugate pairs. On the nonfixed sector, the oriented principal logarithm A=logK selects the polar phase J=A|A|−1; its positive-frequency space has complex rank three. Definition A.9, Theorem A.11, and Lemma A.15, pp.21–23.

The selected J satisfies J²=−I. It is not the split-complex temporal symbol with square +1. The finite cyclic clock is also not a discrete approximation that automatically turns seven labels into a U(1) gauge group. Continuous complex scalar phase, finite recurrence order, nested generative roles, and spacetime coordinates are distinct data.

The doublet requires a repaired marked-cut interface

A raw cut at the marked vector Ω is PΩ=I−|Ω〉〈Ω|. Extended by zero on the clock’s fixed mode, the polar phase obeys ‖[PΩ,J]‖=√(6/7). The cut therefore does not preserve the original complex structure. It cannot simply be declared complex linear by renaming the scalar i. Proposition A.16, p.23.

The specified repair first works over the reals. On VΩ=Ω⊥, TR=PΩKPΩ is a length-six truncated shift with singular values 1,1,1,1,1,0. Doubling gives the self-adjoint real operator DR with off-diagonal blocks TR and TR*. Its kernel has real dimension two and its nonzero singular gap is one.

E2=kerDR⊗ℝℂJ,   ℂJ={aI+bJ:a,b∈ℝ}.

Scalar extension makes DR⊗1 complex linear by construction and gives a complex rank-two kernel. The two real defect directions belong to different doubled summands. Retaining their extension as a physical carrier is an interface assumption, not a deduction from the quaternion algebra alone. Definition A.17 and Theorem A.18, pp.23–24.

The record keeps carrier algebras while forgetting selectors

The standard-form channel places microscopic selectors in left matrix actions and retained carriers in commuting right actions. Primitive left mixing and 3–2 block dephasing leave M3⊕M2. This explains how a designated microscopic in/out selector can be forgotten without discarding the carrier it helped construct. Theorem 4.3 and Corollary 4.4, p.7.

The full right algebras still contain projectors and nontrivial Hamiltonians. If another retained tensor or coupling names a preferred right polarization, it reduces the relevant frame structure. Likewise, a nondegenerate clock spectrum is compatible with passive U(3) frame covariance when its matrix generator is transformed too, but it does not make every U(3) matrix a dynamical symmetry commuting with that generator.

At this stage the structural group is U(3)×U(2). Two independent block centers are present. There is no mathematical rule that removes one merely because the carrier dimensions happen to be three and two. The next tensor-retention hypothesis performs that reduction. A complete account also tracks any shared references in joint right states, since local selector erasure does not delete them.

The product volume gives the determinant-linked stabilizer

Let τ be a retained unit tensor in detV3⊗detV2. A block unitary (u3,u2) acts on it by detu3detu2. Its stabilizer is therefore

S(U(3)×U(2))={(u3,u2):detu3detu2=1}.

The connection must also preserve τ, expressed as ∇τ=0. This is a global parallelity condition, not merely a local choice of a volume element. It makes total determinant holonomy exactly one on every loop. A flat total determinant connection can still have nontrivial global holonomy, so TrF3+TrF2=0 alone is insufficient. Theorem 6.3 and No-go theorem 6.6, pp.12–13.

These alternatives share the same 3+2 rank and complex phase data. Their difference exposes the physical selection problem: why does completion retain exactly the product and no additional tensor that changes the stabilizer?

Derive the six-element quotient and primitive central charges

Define a homomorphism from SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) by

(g3,g2,z)↦(z−2g3,z³g2).

The product determinant is z−6z⁶=1. For any determinant-linked pair, choose z with z⁶=detu2=(detu3)−1; then g3=z²u3 and g2=z−3u2 have determinant one. The map is onto. Its kernel consists of (z²I3,z−3I2,z) with z⁶=1, giving six elements.

S(U(3)×U(2))≅[SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1)]/ℤ6.

Differentiating yields su(3)⊕su(2)⊕u(1), of real dimension 8+3+1=12. On exterior tensors, a block-scalar integral generator aN3+bN2 annihilates the full bidegree (3,2) when 3a+2b=0. Primitive nonzero integer solutions are ±(−2,3), explaining the relative defining charges. Proposition 6.2 and Corollary 6.4, pp.12–13.

The quotient matters globally. Separate simple-group and U(1) coordinates can require compatible local lifts; one should not assume a globally chosen sixth root on every bundle. The relative determinant line itself is well defined as detV2≅(detV3)*.

A reference mechanism is required to realize the reduction

The four-state tensor-label channel retains the vacuum-to-product coherence while mixing the separate volume labels. In its primitive charges, the separate determinant labels have −6 and +6 and their product is neutral. This channel preserves the desired product phase without acting as charge dephasing on the physical right carriers. Its noise rule and the decision to retain that register are explicit choices. §6.1, pp.11–12.

Preservation does not create the reference. Under the full U(3)×U(2) group, the standalone product determinant has a nontrivial character. A covariant channel with invariant initial state and invariant reservoir cannot generate its vacuum coherence. The source gives a constructive alternative: a coherent dual determinant reservoir transfers the phase through a covariant neutral swap. The reference is supplied and consumed as asymmetry data. Propositions 6.7–6.8, pp.14–15.

A local preparation at each vertex still leaves global compatibility unresolved. The prepared tensors must patch as the declared global parallel section and the actual comparison dynamics must preserve it. An argument that first selects the desired tensor and then calculates its stabilizer has proved the stabilizer correctly; it has not yet explained why that tensor is selected by the bare source.

A reduced frame group does not fix the connection

On the reduced bundle, compatible connections form an affine space: the difference of two connections is an adjoint-valued one-form. Thus a determinant-linked group leaves many possible geometries. On a trivial chart, a compatible pair has TrA3+TrA2=0, but this condition does not determine either block’s traceless curvature or the relative central curvature. Proposition 13.4, pp.44–45.

Raw Berry or projected connections need not preserve the retained product tensor. One explicit correction subtracts aIm/5 from both blocks, where a=TrA3+TrA2. It makes the total trace zero in adapted frames. Discrete overlap links require an analogous total-determinant phase correction with a consistent branch. These are supplied compatible comparison prescriptions, not automatic properties of every spectral carrier. §13.2 and §17.1, pp.44 and 52.

The source assumptions also permit identity links and zero curvature everywhere. Nonflat embeddings can be constructed with additional control modes, but their existence does not prove that the source generates an autonomous gauge field. Group selection, connection compatibility, curvature accessibility, and dynamics remain separate calculations.

What is still needed for a physical Standard Model claim

The reconstructed Lie algebra matches the familiar color, weak, and Abelian factor pattern under a chosen physical interpretation. That pattern alone does not establish particle representations, hypercharge normalization, physical left-handed Weyl fields, anomaly cancellation, masses, or interactions. The comprehensive source adds a separate even exterior-module construction with CAR and parity assumptions; its representation and anomaly calculations must be read with those additional inputs. §24, pp.66–72.

Nor does a three-dimensional imaginary quaternion module prove three-dimensional space. Identical finite source and record data can be placed on graphs with different volume-growth and diffusion exponents. The required displacement, causal, and continuum maps are separate proof obligations. A singlet-binding penalty and its exact finite auxiliary gap are likewise distinct from a field-theoretic mass gap. Appendix C, pp.26–29.

The valuable result is a transparent conditional chain: specified source algebra, specified recurrence and cut, specified retained carrier, specified global tensor, then a calculable stabilizer and transport law. A stronger theory must derive or independently justify each selection and show how the resulting dynamics matches observation. The matter guide and coupling guide continue those independent branches.
